I jumped into the boat and sailed away from the beach. Then I saw the girl. She was lying with her face in the water. I pulled her into the boat. She was very weak, but she was alive. 'You saved my life,' she said. 'Your brother tried to help you,' I said. 'My brother died,' she said. 'His name was Charlie and he was ten. This was his chain. I always wear it now!' I looked at the chain around her neck. It was the same chain as the boy's.
