Abulkhair Khan, born in 1693, became the leader of the Little Horde in 1718. Facing Dzungar invasions in 1723, he united Kazakh people, organized a people's army, and won crucial battles near Bulanty River (1726) and Anyrakai (1729). Recognizing the need for protection, Abulkhair aligned with Russia in 1731, signing an agreement that brought peace to Kazakhstan. He passed away in 1748.
